SINUS Event Technology was founded in February 1989 by the current managing director Thorsten Schmidt. Since then we have successfully positioned ourselves as a competent partner for best-practice solutions in lighting, sound, video and stage equipment.  

From the beginning, our core competence has always been in the implementation of high-level corporate events. And this is where our creativity, motivation and resilience have been able to shine through in over 25,000 events so far. As a full service provider, we stand by our customers every step of the way on both a national and an international level, from the initial idea and planning all the way to the successfully implemented event. And you can count on getting first-class, cutting-edge hardware at your event—guaranteed.  

When we plan an event, we always focus on our customer’s interests and getting the message he wants to send across to the event participants. Not only do we provide the high-quality technical equipment, we create an unforgettable experience! Over 20 permanent employees and roughly 100 freelancers bring in an influx of fresh and creative ideas in addition to their specialized know-how and invaluable experience in their respective discipline.

1980

Thorsten Schmidt (managing director and founding member of SINUS) is in charge of lighting for the first time at the inaugural Kranichstein rock festival.

1989

SINUS Event Technology is founded in February by the current managing director Thorsten Schmidt.

1997

SINUS invests in moving heads for the first time.

1999

SINUS moves to Wittichstr. 7 in Darmstadt. Larger rooms with over 2000 m² of storage space. In the same year a new enterprise resource planning system is introduced to be able to manage the increased demand on logistics.

2001

SINUS changes its legal entity status to a GmbH

2002

SINUS expands its portfolio to include video/image technology

2009

To ensure the maintenance of the growing stock of rental equipment and to be able to offer customers quicker return-times on their repairs, the SINUS workshop is now manned full time and an integral component of SINUS quality assurance.   

2012

In this year alone SINUS invests approx. €600,000 in sound, lighting, stage and video equipment. €350,000 is invested in video technology. 

2014

SINUS celebrates its 25-year anniversary.

2014

The hiring of a production manager ensures that our high quality standards are maintained and even improved as SINUS grows into the future.

2015

SINUS begins new growth strategy, invests heavily in new technology and develops new areas of business.
BlachReport ranking of event service providers 2015 – once again, SINUS is in the top 10 of event service providers in all listed categories.

2015

SINUS now offers its customers high-resolution LED projection screens.
